GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. — A Loveland man died after falling into the Colorado River while boating in Grand Canyon National Park, authorities said Tuesday. Park officials said they received an emergency alert from a noncommercial river trip near the Hance Rapid around 10 a.m. Monday.

PHOENIX — A 63-year-old man died Monday after falling into the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park during a private boating trip, authorities said. James Crocker of Lakewood, Colorado, entered the river at the top of Hance Rapid. Members of his boating group said Crocker was unresponsive when they pulled him out of the water and they began CPR.
