If you’re planning to watch the Summer Olympics from Tokyo Japan this summer, you might hear a familiar voice. NBC Olympics named Chris Lewis, who handles play-by-play duties for Boise State’s women’s sports to its broadcast team for the games this summer.
Forty-one youth participated in the weekly Southeast Kansas junior golf tournament, held Thursday at the Katy Golf Club. Youth competed by age division. They were identified by their home courses rather than their hometowns. Mark Bogner of Parsons finished first in the boys 15-18 division with a 42.
The Greenville Triumph announced today that it is starting a women's soccer team, which will compete in the new USL W League. Greenville is one of seven charter markets that will have teams. The league hopes to have closer to 30 teams when it begins play in May 2022.

LANSING, Mich. — Nearly a year to the day since the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, lawmakers in the Michigan Senate have introduced a bundle of bills addressing police accountability. The package of 12 bills would ban the use of chokeholds as a restraint method, prohibit no-knock warrants except in certain circumstances, and add requirements to include implicit bias and de-escalation training for officers.

Williamston Police responded to numerous calls about a reckless driver on West Grand River Avenue. (WXYZ) — Michigan reported 614 new cases of COVID-19 and 24 deaths from the virus on Friday. That brings the total number of cases to 887,274 and deaths to 19,114 since the pandemic began back in March 2020. The numbers continue to trend downward after a peak in the early spring when the state was seeing several thousand cases per day.
