WATERLOO-Connie A. Drewes, 87, died Saturday, May 21, at Rosewood Estates. She was born October 1, 1934, in Waterloo, daughter of Condon and Josephine (Pearl) Rose Brody. She married LaVern Drewes November 28, 1954, at Central Christian Church, Waterloo.
Walley Films screens its works on San Antonio artists Walley Films: San Antonio Artists Film Screening San Antonio Museum of Art launched an initiative in 2020 to support local art by acquiring it as part of its collection. Lawrence Bernard Gross, lieutenant colonel, retired, of Pierceton, died at home on May 21, 2022, at the age of 98. He was born near Warsaw, to Earl and Katie Pearl Ropp Gross on Aug. 19, 1923. He was the fourth child of seven children born into this family.

A jury is deciding whether to send a San Antonio man to prison for life without the possibility of parole in the fatal robbery of a man who was killed for $50 in 2016. Eduardo Torres Jr. and his brother, Leonard Torres, were 25 and 24 when they were arrested and charged with capital murder nine weeks after the robbery and shooting of Nathan Valdez, 21, on Oct. 24, 2016.
