Network Rail has reopened Chestnut Grove footpath crossing in Burton Joyce after completing vital improvement work. The crossing temporarily closed in April following repeated misuse incidents, which could have resulted in fatal or life-changing consequences. Teams have installed new wicket gates closer to the railway, making it easier for people using the crossing to make a decision on whether it is safe to cross.
The crossing will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians later this month Network Rail is preparing to temporarlily close the Broome Lane level crossing in East Goscote for upgrades to take place. It will be shut for vehicles and pedestrians from Thursday, June 17, to Thursday, June 24, so that engineers can replace the level crossing barriers and fit various bits of new, more modern equipment.
