ROBYN

Woman who won £40K on Beat The Chasers dies after devastating diagnosis

She had pledged to 'make each day as meaningful as possible' Robyn Free made one of the biggest decisions of her life, foregoing treatment and chemotherapy on her lungs and deciding to "make the most of the little time" had had left. The keen quiz fanatic missed her opportunity to appear on The Chase back in 2011 but was encouraged by her daughter 10 years later to reapply and she won £40k in a spin off show 'Beat The Chasers'.

What happened to built-to-last?

The old adage goes ‘they don’t make them like they used to’– but is that really true? I, for one, think that it is. Not only do I agree that they don’t make them like they used to, in fact, the change from ‘buy once, buy well’ to the rapid turnarounds we see now is indicative of a larger and more sinister shift in our society.

Persuasion, Alexandra Palace Theatre review - graphic-novel-style Austen

The soundtrack features musicians ranging from Robyn and Dua Lipa to Cardi B Jane Austen’s waspish vision revealed the vanities, delusions and cynical financial calculations that underpinned most of the relationships of her day. The element in which she thrived was repression; the heart constrained beneath the corset, the raging passion held firmly in place by that most important part of an Englishman’s anatomy, the stiff upper lip.
