Met Office storm warning as more lighting and 'torrential downpours' arrive

There is a risk of flooding in some areas The Met Office has issued a new yellow weather warning for thunderstorms with 'torrential downpours'. The warning covers a large area of England including most of Leicester and is in effect until 10pm tonight. There is even a risk of severe flooding that could present a danger to life.

Inquest hears Usman Patel died from stab wounds

The 32-year-old was killed in Green Lane Road An inquest has opened into the fatal stabbing of Usman Patel, who was knifed in Green Lane Road last week. The 32-year-old lived in St Saviours Road in Evington, Leicester, the inquest heard. A post mortem examination of his body has concluded he died of stab wounds, although the final report will only be issued after toxicology and other tests are completed.
