Skeletal remains found in a Vancleave, Mississippi swamp more than 30 years ago have finally been identified as a 21-year-old Pennsylvania woman who went missing in 1990. Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said Thursday the remains have been identified through DNA testing as Kimberly Ann Funk from Sharon, Pa., whose then-unidentified remains were found in a swamp off of Ward Bayou in early 1991.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 89-year-old Jessie Calvin Mount was fatally injured when the 2006 Buick Rendezvous he was driving struck a 2013 Dodge Ram that was backing from a private driveway.

SEYMOUR, Ind. (WAVE) - The Seymour Police Department has arrested two individuals in relation to a robbery and high-speed pursuit Friday afternoon. Police found a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle involved in the robbery on North Ewing Street a short time later.
The body of a missing swimmer was recovered Friday evening from Tarsney Lake in Jackson County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The highway patrol said it was contacted at 7:26 p.m. by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office to help with the search for the man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said one person was seriously injured and had to be transported by Life Flight after a crash on U.S. Highway 50 east of Smart Road. Police said the crash happened while the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

Former Park Hill High School head football coach Josh Hood on Wednesday pleaded guilty to eight counts of sexual crimes including child molestation, statutory rape and statutory sodomy. A Jackson County Jail officer is recovering after a prisoner attacked him during an escape attempt at the hospital. On Monday, the Seymour Police Department was called to help with an escaped inmate at Schneck Medical Center. According to police, 27-year-old Jackson Hatchett was about to be taken to jail after he was discharged from the hospital.

The 2,670th death is a 93-year-old Jackson County man who tested positive May 13 and died May 29 at Providence Medford Medical Center. He had underlying conditions.
