Kevin Strickland spent his 62nd birthday behind bars. It’s the 43rd time he has spent a birthday in prison and says he desperately hopes it will be his last. “I was determined to spend this birthday as awake as I could,” he told ABC News in an exclusive interview.

Woman identified 30 years after skeletal remains found in Mississippi swamp

Skeletal remains found in a Vancleave, Mississippi swamp more than 30 years ago have finally been identified as a 21-year-old Pennsylvania woman who went missing in 1990. Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said Thursday the remains have been identified through DNA testing as Kimberly Ann Funk from Sharon, Pa., whose then-unidentified remains were found in a swamp off of Ward Bayou in early 1991.

JACKSON CO., Ala. (WAFF) - A two-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon has claimed the life of a Dutton man. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 89-year-old Jessie Calvin Mount was fatally injured when the 2006 Buick Rendezvous he was driving struck a 2013 Dodge Ram that was backing from a private driveway.

Jun. 3—If Kevin Strickland's other chances at freedom fail, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker hopes she can file a motion asking a judge to exonerate him at 9 a.m. Aug. 28. That's when a bill, if signed into law by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, would clear the way for innocence claims to be brought before trial courts when a prosecutor believes a prisoner is innocent.
