Blubberhouses CC recorded their first win of the 2022 season when they ended Killinghall’s perfect start to life in Division One of the Theakston Nidderdale League. Bash Khan's troops headed into Saturday's fixture having lost three out of three this term, while their newly-promoted visitors' record was the exact opposite.

Organisers of the 2022 Great Knaresborough Bed Race say excitement is building ahead of the event on June 11. This year 85 teams will compete on the 2.4-mile course, taking them through parkland and Nidd Gorge, up steep climbs and culminating in a 40-yard swim through the River Nidd.

After three consecutive defeats, Bilton and Beckwithshaw both managed to secure their first triumphs of the 2022 Airedale & Wharfedale League season. Bilton eased to a six-wicket success in Saturday's Division One clash with North Leeds. Sam Dale was the star of the show, bowling superbly to finish up with figures of 6-36 as the visitors were knocked over with just 128 on the board.

Several road closures planned on weekend of Leeds Half Marathon and Arena Group Fun Run

Several road closures have been planned for Sunday 8 May in Leeds as the city prepares to host two races. The Leeds Half Marathon commences at 9:30am and will be followed by the Arena Group Leeds Fun Run at 10am. Both races are organised by Jane Tomlinson's Run For All and the not-for-profit events company have advised that a number of closures and access restrictions will be in place for the safety of those taking part.

The judges of the Harrogate Business Excellence Awards met this morning to begin the task of whittling the piles of nominations down to a handful of finalists. The panel was led by head judge Simon Eyles, who is managing director of Bettys and a member of Bettys & Taylors Group’s Collaborative CEO, and also included Stephen Hankinson, managing director of headline sponsor Ignition Group, and Matthew Chapman, manager of Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID).

Bridlington car parking fine figures revealed in new report – find out how many were issued here

More than two thousand Penalty Charge Notices (2,621) were issued in Bridlington covering parking issues during 2020-2021, statistics in a report have revealed. The figures, delivered within the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Annual Parking Report 2020-2021, also shows that 176 fines were issued in Flamborough, 119 at Wilsthorpe, two at Sewerby and 253 in Hornsea.
