A driver who fell asleep at the wheel and caused a head-on collision which killed her own mother has narrowly avoided jail. Janet Macey from Cranbrook was driving her mother’s Honda Jazz on the A229 at Hurst Green in Sussex when she drifted into the opposite carriageway and crashed into a Ford Mondeo.

Two men who were caught “interfering” with a van in Bucks have been ordered to pay thousands in compensation. Seamus McDonagh, 20, and Thomas McDonagh, 19, were both caught “interfering” with a Ford transit van in Chiltern Heights, Amersham, on March 2, Wycombe Magistrates’ Court heard on June 16.

An investigation is ongoing following a crash which has left a motorcyclist seriously injured in Darlington. Emergency services were called to the junction of Middleton Road and Darlington Road, in Sadberge, where a white Ford Transit van and a BMW motorcycle had collided. The rider sustained serious leg injuries and remains in hospital on Tuesday, July 27, Durham Constabulary has confirmed.

No one was seriously injured A driver was taken to hospital after a crash on the M4 near Swindon. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened on the motorway's westbound carriageway near junction 15 at around 11.25am yesterday (July 26). The two-vehicle crash - which involved a grey BMW and a red Ford Focus - didn't lead to any serious injuries but the driver of the Ford was taken to hospital as a precaution due to shoulder, neck and back pain.
