PACE, Fla. -- The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 9-month-old child who was left locked in a vehicle for several hours last week. Deputies were called to a home around 7:45 p.m. last Wednesday in the 4600-block of Ephrem Lane in Pace for an unresponsive child.
Two unions representing the city's emergency medical technicians and pandemics endorsed City Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Queens Assemblyman David Weprin as their top two picks in the race to become New York City's next comptroller. The FDNY EMS Local 2507 and the Uniformed Emergency Medical Services Officers Association Local 3621, which represent a combined 4,750 first responders across the five boroughs, want their members to rank Johnson first and Weprin second on their ranked choice ballots in the June 22 Democratic primary.
An intoxicated driver crashed into a bus stop near Logan Circle and killed a pedestrian early Sunday, police say. The driver was arrested on a murder charge. Information on the identity of the pedestrian, believed to be a man, was not immediately released. Police tape surrounded the bus stop later Sunday.
WORCESTER - Police dispatched to Millbury St. just before midnight on Saturday, June 12, in response to a report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived on the scene they located a 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. Police provided medical aid until EMS transported the juvenile to the hospital.
SAN ANTONIO - A woman is in the hospital after getting her leg stuck between a pool and a deck. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at The View at Crown Ridge Apartments on Luskey Boulevard near Babcock Road on the Far North Side. EMS says the woman fell into an open crack right by the pool and got her foot wedged underneath an I-beam that supports the pool.
A pool incident left a toddler in critical condition Sunday. According to LMPD spokesperson Alicia Simley, a 2-year-old girl was pulled from a residential pool in the Valley Village neighborhood. AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A 4-year-old girl died Saturday evening after an accidental drowning at an Akron home, police said. She was found unresponsive in an above ground pool during a gathering at the residence, according to a news release. The child was receiving CPR when police and EMS arrived to the home, located in the 800 block of Independence Avenue.
One person has died after an overnight shooting in the Newburg neighborhood. Louisville Metro Police said officers responded to a report of multiple people shot in the 5200 block of Robinwood around midnight Saturday. Four people were discovered with gunshot wounds. All four victims were taken to the hospital, however one male victim was pronounced dead before arriving.
Five people are dead and four others were injured following a bloody overnight of shootings on Cleveland's east side. The three separate shootings all occurred within 90 minutes of each other in the early morning hours on Saturday. A shooter opened fire in a busy nightlife district of downtown Austin and injured at least 13 people before fleeing. Two of the people injured were in critical condition. Law enforcement investigators are watching video from the scene to try to determine the identity of the shooter that authorities believe was a man.
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Two men were taken to the hospital after a shooting near a gas station on Cleveland’s East Side. Emergency crews took a 30-year-old man and 35-year-old man to University Hospitals in critical condition, EMS said. Crews responded around 2:30 a.m. to the area of E. 88th Street and Buckeye Avenue, according to EMS.
At least nine people have been injured in an early morning shooting in Austin, Texas. The Austin Police Department said in a tweet just before 2 a.m. local time that officers were on the scene of a shooting in downtown Austin with “multiple victims with injuries.”

Two adults are injured after a shooting on Walton Walker Freeway on Thursday night. According to the Dallas Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before midnight in the southbound lanes of Walton Walker Freeway near the Davis Street exit. Two vehicles were shot at by an unknown suspect while they were driving down the freeway, police said.
