Patient rushed to hospital after crash in Hythe Quay, Colchester

A PATIENT was taken to hospital after a crash on a busy road in Colchester. Emergency services were called to Hythe Quay at about 7pm on Tuesday evening. The East of England Ambulance Service sent one unit to the scene following reports of a collision. A spokesman said: "Crews treated one patient at the scene before transporting them to Colchester Hospital for further care."

Addenbrooke's Hospital erects marquee for ambulance handovers

A hospital has erected a marquee outside its emergency department to reduce ambulance handover delays. Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge said it was currently experiencing high demand. It said the structure would help ambulances transfer patients "quickly and respond to other urgent calls". The trust's board papers show that 27.2% of ambulance handovers were "clear" within 15 minutes in July 2021, compared to 60.6% for July 2019.

Copdock car crash sees two people trapped as vehicle flips on to its roof

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash in which a car has flipped on to its roof just outside Ipswich. Two people are trapped inside the vehicle, which ended up on its roof in Church Lane near Copdock. Suffolk Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at about 4.30pm to help get the pair out of the vehicle.

Police shut Clacton town centre as paramedics appear to treat casualty

POLICE shut off a large section of Clacton's town centre while paramedics appeared to treat a casualty. Essex Police officers and ambulance personnel were spotted at the junction connecting High Street and Station Road, near the Coral betting shop, at 1am today. Surroundings areas and several roads were cordoned off by the force in order to keep residents and vehicles away from the scene.

AN air ambulance has landed near a sports complex, according to eyewitnesses. The orange chopper has been spotted in Alresford on the playing fields. It was positioned next to the village hall and sports pitches just off Ford Lane. It currently remains unknown why the emergency team has been called into action.
