A PATIENT was taken to hospital after a crash on a busy road in Colchester. Emergency services were called to Hythe Quay at about 7pm on Tuesday evening. The East of England Ambulance Service sent one unit to the scene following reports of a collision. A spokesman said: "Crews treated one patient at the scene before transporting them to Colchester Hospital for further care."
A hospital has erected a marquee outside its emergency department to reduce ambulance handover delays. Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge said it was currently experiencing high demand. A MAN has been charged with drink driving after a crash in Colchester Road, Heybridge yesterday afternoon. The road collision took place near Bentalls Shopping Centre shortly before 2.45pm yesterday (September 6). The collision involved two vehicles. It was reported one of them had fallen onto its side.
