Referring to the dangers presented to those on foot in Alexandra Park, I would appeal, and in no uncertain terms, implore MP for Hastings Sally-Ann Hart to spend just a little time in the Park on a beautiful summer’s day when it is busily peopled by families with small children, people walking their dogs, baby buggies, the elderly, the vulnerable and infirm.

A main road in Hulme is closed due to a crash in the early hours of the morning. Transport for Greater Manchester says the A5103 Princess Road is closed between Great Western Street and Claremont Road in both directions. It said the road, located near Alexandra Park, has been closed after what it described as a road traffic collision.

POLICE have been out in force around Hathershaw and Alexandra Park as part of a crackdown after a number of worrying incidents in the area in recent weeks. A 59-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a 83-year-old grandad was mugged in a park in Oldham. The elderly man was walking his dog at Alexandra Park on Sunday, June 27 at around 1.45pm when someone approached him from behind. The attacker took the wallet out of his back pocket and overpowered him when he tried to take it back.
