Nigeria’s minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has cautioned Nigerians against engaging in reprisal attack following the renewed xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
Speaking on the turn of events, that has seen Nigerians being attacked and their businesses being destroyed in South Africa, Aregbesola, described the situation as unfortunate.
The former Osun State Governor in a twitter message went further to warn against reprisal attack, saying it was counterproductive.
According to him, South Africa has huge Nigerian stakes and investments in the country.
The reprisal attack is counter productive because all South African interests and investments in Nigeria going by our indigenisation law have huge Nigerian stakes and investments. We must not in anyway seek to hurt ourselves. Two wrongs don’t make a right. – RA
