Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate on February 23, 2019, presidential election had sought to inspect the electronic server of INEC following his insistence that the server he had access to proved he won the election.

Atiku’s claim to have gained access to the electoral body’s back server had been a subject of controversy in his petition pending before the five-man Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.

The petitioners are by their petition challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress at the last presidential election.

Mr Festus Keyamo had maintained an earlier stand that Atiku’s server was fake and the presidency had petitioned the DSS to investigate Atiku for criminal charges having thought the ex-Vice President to have gained access to the server illegally.

Reacting on Friday to fresh claims by the commission of denying the existence of any server, Mr Keyamo appeared to have contradicted himself, after previously advocating for Atiku to be a probe for parading fake results from the INEC Server.

The senior advocate of Nigeria in a tweet denied confirming the existence of any server, saying the had only petitioned the Police & DSS to investigate Atiku based on his claims.

“Someone CLAIMED to have access to a server. We then petitioned the Police & DSS to investigate him BASED ON HIS CLAIM. He now turns around to say WE ARE the ones that confirmed the existence of a server, forgetting we were relying ON HIS CLAIM. Now we hear there’s even NO SERVER!”He tweeted.

He also alleged that a handful of electoral officers were compromised by the PDP to ‘transmit’ results to a ‘server’, during the election

“a handful of electoral officers were compromised by the PDP to ‘transmit’ results to a ‘server’ then that server must have been stationed in Cameroon, but certainly not in Nigeria. We need to go and retrieve them for a tv documentary: HOW TO MAKE QUICK BILLIONS FROM A PHANTOM SERVER!”  Said Keyamo

INEC had declared Buhari and the APC the winner of the February 23 election.

It said Buhari polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku, who polled 11,262,978 votes.

But Atiku and the PDP, in their petition filed on March 18 to challenge the outcome of the polls, contended that “from the data” obtained from INEC’s server, “the true, actual and correct results” showed that they polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.
