BIG NEWS! APC Sets Plan In Motion, Heads To Finally Take Over Another State From PDP

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has moved on with plans to fully take over the a northern state currently being ruled by the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The APC disloged the PDP in the just concluded election and won the top seat in the state among other positions it won in the keen contest.

The winner of the governorship election in the Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, has inaugurated a 30-member swearing-in and inauguration committee to be chaired by Sen. Joshua Lidani.  Gombe State Governor-Elect, Yahaya, will be sworn-in on May 29 which is already so close. Preparations for the transition are being made.

According to Daily Trust, the committee has Alhaji Abubakar Mu’azu Hassan as deputy chairman, while Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo Waziri will serve as secretary.
Inaugurating the committee at the weekend, the governor-elect said its term of reference was to ensure smooth conduct of the swearing in ceremony on May 29.

He called on the members of the committee to liaise with a committee to be constituted by the outgoing Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo administration for a successful handing over.

In another development, spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has said the party has not released any official statement regarding the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States.

In a statement he personally signed on Monday and sent to reporters in Abuja, Issa-Onilu urged the public to regard as fake news any quote on social media attributed to the party or its National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, which relates to the governorship polls.

The APC National Publicity Secretary said relevant information and the official party guidelines for the elections will be released through official channels in due course. The statement said, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) cautions party members, supporters and the general public on the fake news being spread in the social media on the upcoming Kogi and Bayelsa States governorship elections.

“We had initially ignored the fake statements but it has become necessary to debunk the several fake quotes, which are increasingly gaining traction, particularly many of such statements being ascribed to the Party and the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

“It should be noted that neither the party nor the National Chairman has made any statement at any forum regarding these elections. The numerous quotes being ascribed to the party and the National Chairman are mere fabrications intended for mischief.

The elections are beginning to generate interest as some of the aspirants have started making moves in bid to secure the ticket of the ruling party in the states concerned.
