UNDP and Lagos state government train young persons as production assistant in the entertainment industry

The need for the services of a production assistant in the entertainment industry can’t be overemphasized. In case you don’t know, a production assistant coordinates production activities which include the working knowledge of photography, transporting equipment and materials to locations, coordinating logistics for the cast and crew, resolving interdependency issues, breaking down production schedule with details of personnel, equipment and materials required on set, the list is endless.

 

Interestingly, Lagos state employment support program under the LSETF scheme in partnership with the United Nation for Development Projects UNDP presently train youths willing to build a career as a production assistant in the entertainment industry in Lagos.

A team leader of one of the groups undergoing the training whose name is Victor intimated Daily Advent reporter upon a visit to their centre. “My name is Victor, I got to hear about this job employment opportunity through my local government in Ikotun.

“I am a graduate of physics but I have always wanted to be in mass communication because everyone around me told me I have traits that would make me fly in the mass media industry.

“Due to joblessness after school, I picked the form and applied to be trained as a production assistant. I was called to resume training at Media Film service at Toyin street Ikeja after several months.

“I appreciate the collaboration between the duo UNDP and Lagos state government that made the training possible and I hope they won’t stop with this batch of youth that is presently undergoing the training. The facilitator strategy in impacting us was the best”.
