The UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw was held in Nyon, Switzerland on Monday as 2012 winners Chelsea were handed a tough test against Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich.
Frank Lampard’s men finished second in Group H behind Valencia following a dramatic final day round of matches. The Blues have not enjoyed a fine run of form in recent times, having lost three out of their last four premier league matches but the general transfer window presents the London club a perfect opportunity to strength their team. But the Blues need to be wary of the in-form Brazilian Coutinho and the rest of the Bavarian gang.
Manchester City were hand a tasty tie against 13-time European champions Real Madrid while current defending champions Liverpool were paired with Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
The last 16 matches will begin on 18-19 February and 25-26 February, with the second legs concluding the ties on 10-11 March and 17-18 March. The quarter-final draw is set for 20 March, 2020.
