In an apparent attempt at fraud, a Facebook account, believed to be run by a scammer, with the image of Nigerian billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote, has promised to ‘award’ 50 people with the sum five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) with Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo one of those who have been contacted.
The Facebook account, with the name Alice Dangote, sent a message to Omeruo on social media, with the following text: “Drop your account number and your mobile number the fist (sic) 50 people that he or she drop (sic) her account will be awarded with the sum of (500,000 Fice hundred thousand naira call my manager Now, (08025634332) and the account that is required is either (STERLING BANK, POLARIS BANK, JAIZ BANK, UNITY BANK, Fcmb Bank Uba, Bank, once again thanks for the patronage I am highly recommend here (sic)…”
A snapshot of the message was posted on Facebook by Omeruo, with the caption, “Dangote want to bless me ohhhh.. 🤪🤪 help me thank God.. abi na the wife? Alicedangote 🤷🏾♂️”.
Omeruo, 25, was called up for Nigeria’s international friendly with Brazil but pulled out through injury.
In his absence, the Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by the five-time world champions with Joe Aribo giving Nigeria the lead and Casemiro leveling in the second half.
