But Real have confirmed Zidane has departed for ‘personal reasons’ with the sessions set to be led by his No.2 David Bettoni.
A statement released by the club read: “Our coach, Zinedine Zidane, is to leave the club’s pre-season base in Montreal for personal reasons. Until he returns, the team’s training sessions will be overseen by his assistant coach, David Bettoni.”

Spanish newspaper AS reports that the exit is “only temporary” and that he will definitely be back to lead the team in the International Champions Cup. Real Madrid face Bayern Munich in Houston on Saturday, July 20.

They then play Arsenal on July 23 in Landover before the eagerly-anticipated game against city rivals Atletico in New Jersey on July 26. Los Blancos’ tour overseas has already had its talking points, right from setting off from Spain.
SunSport reported that Gareth Bale appeared to be cut off from his Real Madrid team-mates as they flew out to Canada for pre-season tour. Bale is out of favour at the Bernabeu and club chiefs are looking to off-load the Β£600,000-a-week outcast.
Footage of the squad arriving in Canada on Tuesday showed Bale to be distant from his fellow Galacticos. It came hours after Bale had been given an angry reception by Real fans as he arrived at the club’s training base on Tuesday morning.Β Supporters shouted “desagradecido” – Spanish for ‘ungrateful’ – at the forward as he pulled up in his silver Audi 4X4.
