Barcelona still have the Copa del Rey final against Valencia after this weekend’s LaLiga Santander fixture against Eibar, but Ernesto Valverde doesn’t seem to be thinking about that game just yet and has named a very strong squad for the trip to the Basque Country. Lionel Messi and all of the available starters are named in the squad for the final match of the league season.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, Rafinha and Kevin-Prince Boateng don’t travel as they are all injured, while Arthur Melo has been left out as he has only just recovered from injury.
January transfer signing, Jeison Murillo hasn’t been included in Valverde’s Barcelona squad for their final match of the LaLiga Santander season against Eibar. The Colombian defender will not be involved despite the fact that the Catalan club have nothing to play for, having already secured the title, and despite the fact they’re missing several players with injury.
Barcelona haven’t said that Murillo is suffering from injury and it now seems unlikely that he will play any part in their Copa del Rey final with Valencia next Saturday. Youngsters Riqui Puig, Abel Ruiz, Inaki Pena, Moussa Wague and Carles Perez have all come into the squad, while Murillo has been left out.
Murillo has played just 112 minutes in the league since arriving from Valencia in January and he will almost certainly leave when his loan finishes at the end of the season. Despite this lack of game time, Murillo is part of Carlos Queiroz’s preliminary Colombia squad for this summer’s Copa America.
Barcelona finished their final training session ahead of the game against Eibar on Sunday with Arthur working out without problems after he was a doubt throughout the week. Arthur will be available for next week’s Copa del Rey final against Valencia, while Philippe Coutinho is also expected to fully recover from his injury.
Kevin-Prince Boateng, on the other hand, didn’t join the rest of the group due to a discomfort in his left knee. Ousmane Dembele shouldn’t make it in time for the game against Los Che, while the Blaugrana haven’t made it known whether Boateng will be at Ernesto Valverde’s disposal for the cup final.
