BIG TROUBLE!!! Names Of Top APC Politicians Missing, As INEC Publishes List Of 2019 Governorship Candidates Approved For 2019 General Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Friday, failed to publish any name as the Governorship Candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State.

This came as the Commission displayed a provisional list of Governorship Candidates for the 2019 general elections.

It was learnt that INEC’s refusal to publish any name as the Governorship Candidate for the APC in Imo State, may be connected to a Court Order restraining it from accepting or publishing any name, except the name of Uche Nwosu, the son-in-law of Governor Rochas Okorocha, as the authentic Governorship Candidate.

Recall, that the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole, had forwarded the name of Hope Uzodinma to INEC, as the party’s Governorship Candidate, in defiance of the Court Order, which was also served on him and the party.

67 Candidates however, made INEC’s provisional list, including, former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha (PDP), Senator Ifeanyi Ararume (APGA), among others.

It Wasn’t Me!!! Governor Amosun Breaks Silence On Oshiomole Alleged Detention

Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has dismissed rumours that he and Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo are behind the alleged detention and grilling of All Progressives Congress(APC) National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole.

Oshiomhole was reportedly detained and questioned on Nov. 4 by the Department of State Services (DSS) over the fallout of the APC primaries.

Speaking with State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Amosun said he did not have such capacity.

“I think you are giving me an oversight role.

“I am not a security person; so, clearly, that question will probably not be for me.

“I don’t hide under a finger and fight; if there is need for me to put my views across, you know by now, I will do it.”

The governor, who sounded evasive, said that all that needed to be said about the APC crisis had been said; hence no need to sound like `a broken gammaphone’.

He said it was not true that he was having problem with the leadership of the party.

It would be realled that three APC governors — Okorocha, Amosun and Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara have been at loggerheads with Oshiomhole over the outcome of the party’s primaries.

Governor Okorocha Finally Declares For 2019, Releases Official Statement In Imo State Government House

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has declared to run for the Senate, in the 2019 general elections, on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Okorocha revealed  this in a Press statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemedo on Sunday afternoon.

The unedited statement reads in full:

It is interesting to inform all men and women of goodwill especially Imo people and Orlu Zone people in particular that the Governor of the State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has officially announced his intention to contest the 2019 election for Orlu Zone Senatorial Seat.

He made the declaration weekend while responding to the call by Orlu Zone Political Leaders who visited him at the Government House Owerri to urge him to Contest for the Orlu Zone Senate slot in 2019.

The Governor had few months ago given the hint that he might Contest the 2019 election to go to the Senate for Orlu zone and never said any other thing on that issue until weekend.

The Governor will be Contesting the election on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC. And a Party he single handedly brought to the State and galvanized in the South East and was called all sorts of names for that initiative.

And with the success story of the free education programme in the State and more than one thousand verifiable projects to his credit as governor, he does not need any Campaign or Poster to win his election to go to the Senate for Orlu zone and to continue his service to God and humanity.

And since he made the open declaration to run for the Senate, there has been high level excitement across the State and moreover in Orlu Zone since one good turn deserves another.

The Governor thanks Imo people in general and the people of Orlu Zone in particular for loving him and appreciating all he is doing for the State as their governor even when he is not unmindful of the unfortunate activities of the opposition in the State.

Dr. Steve Orji who led the Orlu Zone Political Leaders to visit the governor said that, looking at the Governor’s monumental achievements as Governor, Orlu Zone Political Leaders have no other option than to come and ask him to run for the Senate to represent the zone.
