SHOCKING! Court continues to protect CJN Walter Onnoghen, see the shocking move made by another court to frustrate Onnoghen’s trial

An Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has extended the restraining order against the continuation of the trial of Nigeria’s Chief Justice, Walter Onnoghen, to January 28.

The court, presided over by Justice N. E. Maha, gave the order after a counsel representing the respondents told the court today that his client had not been served.

The court ordered a fresh service of the court summons to the respondents and asked that the date of service be included in the proof of service before the next hearing.

Before adjourning the matter, Maha ruled that the order for parties to maintain status quo, still stands.

The implications of this order includes among other things that the trial of Onnoghen, scheduled to continue on January 22 at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), may have to be suspended, pending further directives.

The CJN is facing trial at the tribunal for alleged false asset declaration.

He was arraigned by the anti-graft agency, the Code of Conduct Bureau.

The CJN was charged, following a petition filed by a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

But several applications have been filed, resulting to court decisions suspending the trial.

After the FHC gave its interim order for the suspension of the matter till January 17 following two applications by civil groups, the Industrial court gave a similar order suspending the trial till January 21.

The applications in the instant case were brought by the incorporated trustees of two groups: the Centre for Justice and Peace Initiative, and the International Association of Students Economists and Management.

Parties expected to appear in court regarding the matter include the CCT chairman, Danladi Umar; the minister of justice, Abubakar Malami; the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu; the National Judicial Council, headed by Onnoghen and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Brawl Between Sen. Akpabio, Gov. Udom Deepens! As He Reveals Why He Won’t Complete Akpabio’s Projects

Governor Emmanuel at the launch of his manifesto said “There is a difference between projects and monuments,” apparently referring to some of the signature projects constructed by Mr Akapbio when he was governor for eight years. “I did not come to complete monuments. I came to complete projects – live touching projects.”

Mr Akpabio, his political allies, and supporters have accused the governor of refusing to complete multi-million dollar projects like the Four Point by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene and the Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Centre, Uyo, initiated by the previous administration.

“The same people that promised you 31 industries, did they do one?” the governor added. The governor had made the same argument about his predecessor’s projects being “monuments” when he was interviewed earlier in the morning by AIT.

“You can’t expect somebody like me who has managed resources all through my life to plunge the little resources that I have under recession into monuments,” the governor said when the interviewer told him that critics said he refused to complete some projects he inherited from his predecessor.

Onofiok Luke, the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, was among the numerous politicians who canvassed for support for Governor Emmanuel at the Wednesday event.

“In 1999, they tried to disgrace the then governor, Obong Victor Attah. People who called themselves Abuja front, they fought him, they brought a candidate to challenge Obong Attah. We stood up and covered Obong Attah.

“In 2007, when Godswill Akpabio was governor, people said a lot of things against him, but we provided cover for him and ensured that he was re-elected for a second term. “But when it is the turn of Governor Udom Emmanuel, Godswill Akpabio, whom we all protected and provided cover for, is now the person who wants to put the governor to shame. “Akwa Ibom people, will you accept it?” Mr Luke asked the crowd.

“No,” the crowd chorused.

Meanwhile, Mr Luke continued, “Look at that my official seat over there,” he said, pointed to where he sat close to Governor Emmanuel before he mounted the stage to speak.
“Some person would stand up from a seat, then turn round to urinate on the same seat.

In the same vein, “They want to remove Governor Emmanuel when he has not finished his tenure. Since God would never allow them to succeed, we all have to stand up and support the governor,” the speaker said.

Outburst! Buhari Can Never Be Trusted He Has An Agenda To Destroy Our Democracy, Ezekwesili Tells Nigerians

The convener of the famous Bring Back Our Girls and the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, has disclosed that  President Muhammadu Buhari is a serial liar giving his body language ahead of the forthcoming 2019 polls.
According to Ezekwesili, who spoke in Akure, the Ondo State capital while campaigning to residents of the state on the need to vote her as the next president, she emphasised that the processes required for successful elections are being jettison by President Buhari who is also contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.Ezekwesili identified the non-signing of the 2018 electoral amendment bill into law as well as the alleged family relationship of the president with one of the top staff member of the country’s electoral umpire as some factors that might affect the credibility of the election. Her words, “I believe the Nigerian people must be on the alert, I do not trust this APC government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“He (Buhari) has not shown himself to be trustworthy with the fact that he refused to sign into law, the electoral amendment bill of 2018.He should have taken that bill and signed it to law. If it was signed into law, it means we can believe in the electoral integrity of our elections and electoral umpires.Today, he (Buhari) has basically weakened the capacity of INEC and avoids them doing the thing that they ought to do according to law.“So, I do not believe in peace accord that he signed and if it was in good faith. I don’ t trust that the fact that Amina Zakari who is a daughter of a man that married to the sister of the President Buhari being part of the conduct of 2019 election should be trusted.I don’t believe a lot of thing around the way that the government is trying to execute the 2019 election but I believed in the Nigeria people and they would not allow anyone to dismantle our hard won democracy.

”While calling on Nigerians to reject the APC and PDP at the polls, she maintained that the administrations of both parties had led the country to her current quagmire where she stated that Nigeria was now rated as the headquarters of poverty in the world due to what she described as mal – administrationEzekwesili further stated that ACPN will give Nigeria new direction, adding that with in the saddle as president coupled with her exposure, experience and educational background, she will lift 80 million Nigerians out of poverty. This democracy, people died and were also maimed fighting for this democracy. This democracy is very greater than President Buhari and his administration. This democracy will survive Buhari. The Nigeria people are saying both the APC and PDP government have failed and they must go, so that we build a new nation.Nigerians are fed up with the failures of governance, which has become too costly for Nigerians. Just look at us, we are now the world capital of poverty.

“We have overtaken India which is even seven times of our population as a country wit the largest number poor people. There are eighty-seven poor people in Nigeria, which is a country of less than two hundred million people. In India there are about 1.3 billion people and there are seventy -nine million people in extreme poverty and that is a shameful situation. We cannot allow it to continue. The more that bad governance is given to us by APC and PDP, the more that people drop into poverty. It is time for change of direction in our country and it is time for us too to take ourselves out of mediocrity and poor performance. It is time to become a country that is governed on the basis of knowledge and by someone who has character and competence and know the kind of policy that can grow a economy. We are growing at 1.8 percent and that is less than a percentage of our population at 2.8 percent. You know this is disastrous.

“What it means is that children, men women will be lock in permanently poverty. We must break a circle of poverty and that is why I’m running.I am not running so that I would answer a title, I am running so that I will mobilise the Nigeria people to do things will be done differently.I am not running alone, all Nigerian must run with me because we want a different Nigeria. The Nigeria that will make children of the poor have access to quality education.”Meanwhile, the Ondo State Chairman of ACPN, Chief Afolabi Babalola urged everyone to stand firm with the party stating it is set to pull surprises at the poll.According to him, “It’s time for us to give women the chance. God has lifted up Dr. Oby Ezekwesili to led Nigeria to the Promised Land. She has the required knowledge, experience and exposure, so she is the best among all the other presidential candidates,” he stated.

The time for legal battle is now, as Imo APC files suit against National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole for being a Judas to the party

The Imo State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress has filed a contempt suit against the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

The APC chairman in the state, Daniel Nwafor, made this known today during a press conference in Owerri, stating that the contempt suit was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Nwafor urged President Muhammadu Buhari to watch the national chairman closely as Oshiomhole was working against the success of the party.

He said that the contempt suit was filed in order to checkmate the “undemocratic and illegal activities” of the former governor of Edo State.

Nwafor said that Oshiomhole had no power, morally or legally, to “arbitrarily dissolve ” duly elected APC executive in Imo State, after which a caretaker committee was appointed.

He said that the action was contemptuous in the sense that there was an existing court judgment which barred Oshiomhole from doing so.

Nwafor said,  “We have filed a contempt suit against Mr. Adams Oshiomhole. It is at the Federal High Court, Abuja. In the days to come, we will publish it in the national newspapers for the world to read. We have said that President Muhammadu Buhari should watch Mr. Adams Oshiomhole closely. The National Chairman had no powers to arbitrarily dissolve a duly elected APC executive in Imo State and to appoint a purported caretaker committee.”

Nwafor also informed that the APC in the state under his leadership had suspended the “Purported caretaker committee” chairman, Marcellinus Nlemigbo and the members of his committee.

He alleged that Nlemigbo had “engaged in anti-party activities” and had not attended APC meeting in his Ezinihitte Ward in Mbaitoli Local Government Area in the last one year.

Describing the caretaker committee chairman and his members as “impostors,” Nwafor said that he would not be distracted, noting that the suspension was “indefinite.”

Nwafor said that despite the crisis in the party, APC would win in the state.

According to him, the caretaker committee has no powers to summon the state governor, Rochas Okorocha and five others to appear before a purported disciplinary committee.

He said that he remains the only person in the state who has the powers to set up a disciplinary committee and to ask anyone to appear before it.

5 eating habits which make you grow fat

Maintaining a healthy weight is the result of a combination of factors. It has to do with diet, of course, and also lifestyle. It may be easier to get started by looking not at what you eat, but how you eat. Consider the following five habits that can make you fat. Changing the habits one by one will jump-start your weight loss and help you find the motivation to make more changes going forward.

Eating before bed
It’s a comforting habit to snack on something before bed, but this type of eating seldom includes healthy food. It’s also not strictly necessary as long as you ate normally throughout the day. If your stomach is growling, it’s perfectly fine to have a small snack – just make it something like a piece of fruit or a handful of raw nuts.

Sedentary lifestyle
From time, meeting our basic needs took up a lot of people’s free time and energy. Nowadays we spend most of our time sitting, because our primary concern is to earn money to buy food. Try to look for ways to build physical activity into things you already have to do.

Eating too much salt
It can be discouraging at the outset of any diet plan that it takes some time to see results. However, you can see some early slimming if you pay attention to your salt intake. Too much sodium leads to fluid retention, which makes you feel bloated. Reduce salt and lose several pounds of water weight in a snap.

Eating too fast
It may sound strange that how fast you eat has anything to do with weight gain, but the problem lies in the delay between food hitting your stomach and your brain receiving the message that you’re full. It actually takes about 20 minutes.
So during that time, if you’re eating too fast, you are bound to overeat.

Missing sleep
When it comes to weight gain, it occurs because the level of our stress hormone cortisol spikes. This negatively affects the body’s processing of sugar, and any that hangs around gets turned into fat. Being too tired also frequently leads to poor meal choices, because it takes a fair bit of energy to plan, prepare, and clean up after a healthy meal. We may also lack the energy to get to the gym or be active in any way, further exacerbating the problem.

Onnoghen: I Note The Denial By EFCC, But They Should Stop Lying About Me – Yinka Odumakin

The National Publicity of the pan Yoruba Group, Afenifere on Wednesday gave some reasons why he alerted the citizens in the country on an alleged invasion of the residence of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, by officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.

In a statement titled ‘On The Security Cordon Around CJN House:EFCC Denial and Fake Allegations’, Odumakin who said he has never spread untruth to the public said the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders forum after it’s meeting in Abuja on Tuesday was told by an informant that EFCC officials had invaded the residence of the CJN.

He said he was mandated by the leadership of the forum to alert President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians on the alleged invasion.

The statement reads ” A meeting of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders held in Abuja on Tuesday which drew leaders from the four zones that made up the group. As the meeting came to a close,an informant came in to alert us that there was a security cordon around the CJN,Mr Walter Onoghen’s residence which he claimed were EFCC men.

The leaders reviewed the information against the gestapo-like invasion of the National Assembly months back by DSS operatives without the knowledge of the then Acting President for which nobody was called to question beyond easing out the the DG DSS .It was in the same pattern that the residences of the Senate President and his Deputy were illegally sealed by the police sometimes ago just as the police just ended a six-day siege on the residence of Senator Dino Melaye.

The Leaders then resolved I should alert the public on the alarm that came to us upon which I recalled the media crew that just took our communique to release to them the information at our disposal that there was a cordon around the CJN residence which our source said were EFCC men and that the President should ask them to back off in order not to overheat the polity since the matter was already in court.

It was late last night when I returned to Lagos that I saw the EFCC statement by one Tony Oriilade laced with many FAKE allegations :

1 That I said they raided the home of the CJN.I challenge the EFCC to bring out where I said such .

2 That I said they arrested the CJN.I equally want them to substantiate that unfounded claim

3 That I circulated a “non-existent “(synctactic illiteracy ) which went viral.I want them to produce the “non-existent” video.Even the video of my address was posted online by another party .

I however note the denial by the EFCC that they were not the security agency our source indicated threw the cordon. Only that is regretted if our source had a mistaken identity of the people he saw.

If the denial is true,it raises more fear about the indiscriminate manner security agencies are deployed in a democratic setting .The country needs to know the agency that threw the cordon that led to the panic which came to us yesterday before we get to the point that criminals and bandits would begin to invade people’s homes posing to be security agencies.

Not necessarily for the jejune ,puerile and and LIBELOUS tenses of Orilade but for the general public I say:I have interfaced with the public in the media in the last 33 years and have never pushed untruth to the public once and will never do.
