On Wednesday Police officers attached to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command, arrested a 52-year-old American citizen identified as Breedlove Shawn, he was arrested yesterday by for allegedly beating up an airport towing service official.
The incident happened in the confines of the airport yesterday after Mr. Shawn flouted airport rules and parked at a restricted parking slot at the airport.
Following an attempt to enforce the law to impound his car and tow it, the American national came out from his car violently and slapped one of the airport towing officials,causing a big scene, it took the effort of police men assigned to the airport to restrain the american international, before they could tow his car, Mr Shawn was immediately arrested and taken into custody by the police.
Speaking on the incident the Managing Director/CEO of the towing Company, Billafary Towing Service Limited, Alhaji Lamidi Falekulo confirmed the incident and also stated that nobody is above the law in Nigeria and the law will take its due course.
Divisional Police Officer, International Airport, Lagos, Mr. Danjuma Garba, confirmed the arrest of the American citizen and further disclosed that he will be arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ogba on two counts bordering on assault resulting in grievous bodily harm.
