See How Dozens Of Boko Haram Fighters Were Taken Out By Nigerian Army Troops (Photos)

PM News reports that troops of the Nigerian Army, 120 Task Force Battalion in Goniri, Yobe State have put dozens of terrorists from the Boko Haram group to death. The terrorists were said to have been on their way to unleash an attack on the military base in town.

The offensive which was attempted at 6:33pm on Wednesday, turned out to be a costly miscalculation on the part of the Boko Haram fighters.

Spokesman for the Nigerian Army, Col. Sagir Musa revealed the following as he spoke of the event:

“Troops …in a professional manner, tactically waited for the terrorists to close into the killing range and opened heavy volume of fire on the criminals who approached the location with 7 gun trucks and several other fighters”, said Colonel Sagir Musa.

“Consequently, this encounter/ambush resulted in the annihilation of dozens of terrorists, many fled with some levels of injuries and equipment were captured”, Musa said.

Gun truck of Boko Haram destroyed by Nigerian troops

Musa stated that the troops had seized five of the gun trucks, one Vehicle Blinde Leger and an assorted quantity of ammunition, while destroying a number of motorcycles in the process.

This was the second time in recent times that Nigerian troops would be rendering scathing attacks which have left the terrorist group devastated.

It will be recalled that on the 24th of June, 2o19, the Nigerian troops dealt a major blow to the terrorists during an attack in Mafa.

The Chief of Army Staff , Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, who has been in the Command and Control Centre, has meanwhile given commendations to the troops for the successful showings in recent times against the Islamic militants as he charged them to sustain the tempo of their operations.
