The Richmond Observer - LETTER: A mother's very special Valentine's Day gift

These needs of love came frequently for me, a single parent with four active young children. In fact, it seemed as though I had to give out so much love and attention, there

Cat Toren: Out of the Fog

Cat Toren (photo: Jared Lucow) Many musicians have been influenced by the words of the great Dr. Martin Luther King, but pianist and composer Cat Toren takes the sway of the great leader to new levels on Scintillating Beauty (Panoramic), the debut album by her band Human Kind. The title is taken from Dr. King’s classic “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” in which he writes, “Let us all hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away and the deep fog of misunderstanding will be lifted from

LETTER — Former Electoral Board member speaks out

To the Editor: Following the Dec. 14, 2020 Board of Supervisors meeting, I as a member of the Electoral Board sent an e-mail to Ms. (Kay) Pierantoni in which I expressed the same concerns as those expressed by Mr. Larry Clark at that, and at a subsequent meeting. I received a lengthy reply which laid out her thinking on the matter but stated that no apology was due us. We exchanged more correspondence, and I ended the exchange by telling her that we would never agree and that I knew that she would never apologize
