F.M. "Doc" Wigington, 93, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30,2021 in Jacksboro, Texas. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Bethel Assembly of God Church. Burial followed in Lynn Creek Cemetery. Doc was born Dec. 4, 1927 in Bridgeport to William Floyd and Lula Mae (Shields) Wigington. He married the Late Peggy Stout March 13, 1948 in Jacksboro. Charles E. Hooks, age 67 of Jacksboro passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his residence. Charles was a Deacon at Corbin Hills Baptist Church and worked for the City of Clinton for 20 plus years. Throughout his life he loved hunting, fishing, church, family, and gospel music. Your Local Election HQ AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Governor Greg Abbott has set a date for the special runoff election in House District 68. Tuesday, Feb. 23 will be the day that the runoff election takes place. This election will fill the place left by State Senator Drew Springer. The candidates for the runoff election are David Spiller of Jacksboro and Craig Carter of Nocona. The early voting period for the runoff election will start on Feb. 16. WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL)— Nocona businessman Craig Carter and his wife are devastated and mourning the loss of their 4-year-old daughter Lux after a horrible car accident Sunday. In a Facebook post, Carter said his mother-in-law Rose was also killed, and his son Rex is fighting to survive. Carter who’s running for state representative in District 68 said they are humbly asking for prayers. An election date for the runoff election with Jacksboro Lawyer David Spiller has not yet been announced by the governor.
