James Milton “Jim” Tanquary, 81, of Texhoma passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Moore County Hospital in Dumas, Texas. The son of Horace Milton and Bertha Fay (Garrett) Tanquary, Jim was born May 4, 1940, in Franklin, Neb.

Understanding the challenges some families face to have enough to eat, Triumph Ministries embarked on a mission last summer to help feed children in need. Project: Feed the Kids ran for three weeks, Monday through Thursday, last June and served over 4,500 meals to families in Dumas.
Area first responders and fire crews battling a wildfire in Moore County had it under control by early Tuesday. According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, as of Tuesday morning, the #HeliumFire in Moore County is at 3,264 acres and 80% contained, and crews continue to patrol the area and mop up along containment lines.

DUMAS, Texas (KFDA) - Dumas police are investigating the death of a 56-year-old woman. Police say the woman was found at a home on 3rd Place around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. About the same time, a chase began with a 31-year-old man. The chase ended near Stinnett when the man wrecked the car and was ejected.
DUMAS, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Moore County Crime Stoppers reports that Rejinal Barnes is in custody after leaving Moore County and being found by police in Young County. According to the Moore County Crime Stoppers, Barnes was wanted on an active warrant for Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony.

The Pampa Lady Harvesters (16-3-1) traveled to Dumas on Thursday to open District play. The Lady Harvesters knocked off the Demonettes, after an RBI walk by junior Reagan Dyer brought home freshmen Brianna Cloud. Freshmen Cambree Dyer also drew an RBI walk to bring home sophomore Kynleigh Kirby to make it 5-3 Pampa.

The Demonettes junior first baseman has thrived in high-pressure situations this season and has been one of the most consistent batters from the region with 39 runs and 58 RBI.
TOP PERFORMERS Sania Reyes, Dumas Reyes wasted no opportunities at the plate on Saturday, driving in four on three hits to lead Dumas Demonette Varsity past Lubbock 18-8 on Saturday. Reyes drove in runs on a single in the second and a home run in the fourth.
DUMAS, Texas (KFDA) - With the workforce shortage in nurses, Amarillo College and the Moore County Hospital District are partnering together to solve it. Certified nursing assistants (CNA’s) are throughout the hospital and clinics taking care of patients basic daily needs, but the hospital says it’s CNA workforce size is becoming an emergency.
