Tom Brady quipped in a YouTube video with Rob Gronkowski last week that he could play quarterback in the NFL until he was 50 years old, claiming that “I don’t find it so difficult.” He certainly backed up his boast on Sunday. Brady threw for five touchdowns, the ninth time he’s reached that mark in his career (including playoffs), the first two to Gronkowski in a 48-25 rout of the Atlanta Falcons at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.

Volunteers give a fresh coat of paint to dozens of homes across Hillsborough County

Volunteers from across the Tampa Bay area gathered on Saturday to paint homes for low-income families. The one-day volunteer effort, named Paint Your Heart Out Tampa, gave a fresh coat of paint to more than two dozen homes across Hillsborough County. And, according to Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, some of those homes belong to veterans.

TAMPA — Mayor Jane Castor announced Saturday that the city will reform its Crime-Free housing program. The move comes four days after a Tampa Bay Times investigation revealed how officers encouraged landlords to evict tenants based on arrests, including some where charges were later dropped. The investigation was published online Wednesday at Tampabay.com.

Tampa police officer dies of COVID-19 complications

A 37-year-old Tampa police officer has died following complications from the coronavirus, according to the Tampa Police Department. Officer Matthew S. Coleman’s death was announced by the department in a Facebook post Wednesday evening. Coleman, a field training officer in District II, had worked at the Tampa Police Department since Sept. 30, 2014, officials said.

A skateboarder was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Tarzana early Tuesday and authorities are asking for help identifying the driver.
