Dixie Fire Fully Contained After More Than 3 Months, 963,309 Acres Burned

BUTTE COUNTY (CBS13) — After more than three months, authorities say the Dixie Fire is now 100 percent contained. Cal Fire reported full containment on Monday. It comes after an atmospheric river brought historic amounts of rainfall to Northern California over the weekend. #DixieFire above the Cresta Dam, Feather River Canyon in Butte, Plumas, Lassen, Shasta, & Tehama Counties remains 963,309 acres and 100% contained.

5 NorCal counties sue PG&E over Dixie Fire damage, injuries

Five Northern California counties announced Wednesday they were suing Pacific Gas and Electric Co. over damages and injuries caused by the Dixie Fire. The Dixie Fire stands as the second-largest wildfire in California history and the 14th-most destructive, according to Cal Fire. As of Wednesday, it was 95% contained and had 1,218 personnel still assigned to it.
