Ferrari dominated the first practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix to suggest their new upgrades will help take the title fight to Red Bull. Charles Leclerc topped the timesheets of the hour-long session, followed just hundredths of a second behind by teammate Carlos Sainz. Ferrari had decamped to the Circuit de Catalunya with a raft of changes to their car, which they tentatively hoped would help them eclipse Max Verstappen, who had dominated the previous race in Miami just two weeks earlier.
