Glasgow Warriors will arrive back in Scotland a stronger all-round unit after South Africa tests, says Ryan Wilson

ON the pitch, results and performances have been disappointing, but Ryan Wilson insists that Glasgow Warriors will arrive back in Scotland tomorrow a stronger all-round unit thanks to the past two weeks the whole squad has spent together in South Africa. Friday night’s 29-17 loss to the Bulls in Pretoria left Warriors with a record of zero wins from two matches from their late season sojourn south of the equator, having been beaten 32-7 by the Stormers in Cape Town seven days earlier.

Why Glasgow Warriors' trip to South Africa wasn't as damaging as results suggest

Ryan Wilson believes that the Glasgow squad could gain lasting benefits from their South African visit despite the fact that they lost both matches without picking up a point. The Warriors did come close to claiming a losing bonus against the Bulls on Friday night, only for Ollie Smith’s late touchdown to be correctly chalked off for a forward pass.

Bulls v Glasgow: Warriors bullied out of it by Bulls

Danny Wilson's side now face a must-win game against Edinburgh to qualify for the play-offs of the United Rugby Championship FAMILIAR disappointment for Glasgow Warriors in Pretoria as poor discipline and a mid second half slump saw this game float away from them. A late Ollie Smith try opened up the prospect of salvaging a losing bonus-point, and the full-back went over again in the final minute which would have pulled the deficit back to less than seven points, but it was chalked off for a forward pass earlier in the move.

Cliches and contrivances relegate a key incident in South African history to routine Tinseltown-style fodder Some silly cliches and tiresomely obvious liberal-balance contrivances have been pumped into this action-thriller for Netflix from South African director Mandla Dube, which is inspired by one of the most sensational events in anti-apartheid history: the Silverton siege in 1980.

Grammy star Black Coffee: winning the world, losing at home

I first saw Nkosinathi Maphumulo aka Black Coffee perform at Amaros Night Club in Pretoria, South Africa during the late 2000s. Dressed in a casual T-shirt, no one would have guessed he was destined for global glory. Beneath strobe lights, bathed in throbbing house music, clashing voices and perspiration, he could have been just like any other struggling deejay on the make.
