Saturday starts off warm and sticky with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, but the Orioles could face a rain delay as storms develop this afternoon and evening. HOWARD COUNTY, MD (WBFF) - As COVID-19 cases drop and vaccinations rise, Howard County says it is further expanding plans for 4th of July fireworks. Fireworks at the Columbia Lakefront will now include at least ten food trucks and live music. Meanwhile, nearby Baltimore City is choosing to skip fireworks this year.

OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ) — Ocean City Police said 5 suspects have been arrested and charged in an armed robbery that took place at motel early Wednesday. Two of the suspects are juveniles. Officers responded around 3 a.m. to the 100 block of 27th street, where they met with the victim, an 18-year-old from Pennsylvania.

As of 10:00 a.m. there are 461,549 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Maryland, 79 cases have been reported in Maryland in 24 hours. The statewide positivity rate is now 0.76%, decreased by 0.02 since Wednesday morning; 3 deaths have been reported in one day bringing the state's death toll to 9,481.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A two-way bike lane is planned for the west side of Fenton Street, along with one travel lane in each direction on for vehicles, a northbound left turning lane at intersections and parking and loading zones on the east side of the street.
BELCAMP, Md. (WJZ) — The 2 left lanes on I-95 past exit 80 remain closed after a tractor-trailer overturned on Wednesday afternoon. Officials said the 2 right lanes, adjacent to the Maryland House Service Area, have reopened. Crews are still working to clear the scene.
The Maryland Department of Labor is warning about a new scam targeting unemployment insurance claimants in the state. It comes in the form of a text message with a link. The text says: "MD Government: We have put your unemployment account under review, we request you to verify your identity at [link] or call customer support."

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The Montgomery County Council voted unanimously to amend the county's tax code, allowing residents eligible for federal or state income credit to receive the county's matching tax credit. Residents previously had to be eligible for both state and federal income credit in order to receive the county's Working Families Income Supplement.
