King’s Hall: A new era begins for iconic Belfast building as scaffolding comes down

Scaffolding covering the front of the iconic King's Hall building in Belfast has come down - marking a new era for the famous venue. Dating back to 1934, King's Hall was the largest exhibition venue in Northern Ireland and became a marquee boxing venue, with fighters such as Rinty Monaghan, Barry McGuigan, Dave McAuley and Tyson Fury stepping into the ring there over the years.

EVERY year the King’s Hall cricket teams enter the County Competitions, which are always extremely competitive in Somerset. This season the Under 11, Under 12 and Under 13 boys all won their respective County Cups. The Under 11s played against Millfield at Huish and Langport CC at the beginning of June, with Wilbur Mack picking up player of the match after a fine batting performance.

KING'S Hall girls and boys Under 13 cricket teams were both involved in semi-final action in their respective Somerset County Cup competitions at Millfield last week. In their match the King’s girls fielded first and limited Millfield to 95 runs, thanks to an early wicket from Olivia H and a number of impressive performances, including Faith H who picked up a stumping, a catch and a run out.

King's Hall pupil wins National Squash Championship

KING'S Hall pupil Humphrey C-S has just been crowned the Under 11 Independent Association of Prep Schools National Squash Champion. Humphrey, who plays his squash at King’s College and The Wyvern Club, won the South West Regional Championships back in the autumn and trains with the regional squad.
