The Leicestershire solicitor company raised the alarm A couple tried to smuggle the drug spice into prison by sending letters soaked in the illegal substance to inmates. Prisoner Shane Smith, 35, from Coalville and his girlfriend Carla Fitzgerald, 27, were involved in conspiring to produce mail contaminated with spice and then sending it into HMP Ranby in Nottinghamshire, where Smith was serving a prison term.
