Portland Youth Climate Strike marches to City Hall

PORTLAND, Ore. – Hundreds of young people marched through the streets of Portland on Friday for the Portland Youth Climate Strike, the local part of a large-scale international protest against climate change. The group arrived at Portland City Hall at about 1 p.m., where speakers demanded that elected officials take stronger action to curb climate change.

New analysis from City Hall and Bloomberg Associates has found that six boroughs – Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Brent, Tower Hamlets and Newham – are at particularly high risk of suffering the worst effects of climate change.

Mayor of London awards grant for new social housing in Enfield Enfield Council’s efforts to tackle shortages of social housing in the borough have been boosted by a £166.6million grant from City Hall.
