Carlisle Fire crews called to attempted arson on Grey Street

Fire crews were called to a home in Carlisle this afternoon after an arson attempt at the property. Both Carlisle East and Carlisle West fire crews were called to the property on Grey Street at about 3pm after some had poured petrol through a letterbox on the street. A spokesman for Carlisle East, said: "Someone had poured an accelerant into the letterbox and then attempted to set it on fire."
