People asked to only attend A and E for life threatening conditions following busy day

By Abigail Beaney News Reporter People in East Lancashire are being asked to only attend A and E if they have a life-threatening condition after they are reporting to be very busy. East Lancashire Hospital Trust, which runs Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley Genral Hospital, has been busy through the day and are asking people to use GP or NHS 111 services to check symptoms and determine whether they need to attend Accident and Emergency.

Mental health nurse at Blackburn hospital took her own life A mental health nurse who was suffering with alcohol problems and had previously self-harmed took her own life, inquest heard.Coroner Richard Taylor said the death of 37-year-old Sarah Braithwaite could 'not have been anticipated', despite intervention by friends, colleagues, police and the mental health crisis team on the morning of the day she died.
