Educators weigh in on new mandatory kindergarten bill while awaiting final senate vote

A bill that would require the completion of kindergarten before starting first grade is sitting in the Alabama Senate.The house approved the mandatory kindergarten bill back in February.“Its like building a house and you’re missing part of your foundation, to me if you don’t come to kindergarten then, you’re missing a big piece of your foundation,” said Helena Elementary kindergarten teacher Andrea Burk.
