Nigerian Wrestling Star Qualifies For Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Style

Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye (57kg) is through to the semi finals of the 2019 Senior World Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan after dismantling In Sun Jong of North Korea 12-2 via technical superiority.

The semi final spot means she has also qualified for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

the Commonwealth and African games champion will be attending her second Olympics games in Tokyo and is expected to pick a medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after failing to do so in her last attempt.

Adekuruoye is ranked number four in the world in the 57kg category by the United World Wrestling, the international body for Wrestling.

She won the silver medal at the women’s freestyle 55 kilograms at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships in Paris, France.
