Head coach of Nigeria’s senior men basketball team, Alex Nwora, has revealed that three more players will be dropped from D’Tigers after landing with 15 stars in China for the 2019 FIBA World Cup which tips off at the end of August.
D’Tigers departed Lagos through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport aboard an Emirates Airline flight and arrived in China on Wednesday night before proceeding to Yangzhou for the Peak Invitational International tournament between the 22nd and 27th of August.
Nwora’s men are scheduled to face Iran, Montenegro and Poland, all of whom are also taking part in the FIBA World Cup, in the tune-up tourney as D’Tigers prepare to face Russia, Argentina and South Korea at the competition proper.
And according to D’Tigers head coach, the final list of 12 players who would represent Nigeria at the World Cup will be chosen at the end of the Peak Invitational on August 27 ahead of the opening World Cup game against Russia four days later.
