The race for the Premier League title is a tight one, with just one point separating Manchester City and Liverpool with two games left to play. But one of Arsenal’s players out on loan has made his choice for who will emerge champions… albeit in another sport altogether.
Calum Chambers is on a season long loan at London club, Fulham, but the English footballer appears to be a fan of basketball and quite interested in the final outcome of the ongoing NBA playoff season in the United States.
Chambers, who has starred in defence and midfield for the Cottagers this season, made his pick for which franchise currently competing in the NBA playoffs would go all the way and emerge as champions, with the 24-year-old picking Golden State Warriors to emerge champions and retain the title as a result.

Led by Steph Curry, the star-studded Warriors team came through a tricky first round against the Los Angeles Clippers before winning that playoff series 4-2 and set up a Western Conference semi-final series against arch-rivals, Houston Rockets.
And the Warriors are keeping to Chambers’ prediction that they will go all the way once again this season, after winning the first of a best-of-seven clash 104-100 in a keenly contested match on Sunday night at the Oracle Arena in California.
Kevin Durant scored 35 points for the Dubs who saw Rockets star, James Harden come within millimetres of sending Game 1 of the series to overtime with scores at 103-100 in favour of the Warriors, only for his attempt from beyond the arc to hit the realm.
Harden’s team-mate, Chris Paul, was then adjudged to have committed a foul which led Durant being awarded two free throws – the all-star made one of them with 4.4 seconds left as Warriors edged Hakeem Olajuwon’s former team to take the lead in the series.
Already, Chambers feels the Warriors would do enough to overpower the Rockets and set up a Western Conference final against Portland Trailblazers, before meeting and beating a Milwaukee Bucks team led by Giannis Antetokounmpo – who is of Nigerian descent – in the NBA finals.
What do you think about Chambers’ choice for 2019 NBA champions? Will the Warriors go all the way and win a fourth NBA title in five seasons?
