Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru and his Galatasaray side will face a tough task of reaching the last 16 of the Europa League after the Turkish club got pitched to face Portuguese giant, Benfica, in one of the highlight clashes of the draws. Both teams came into the Europa League draws after finishing third in their respective Champions League groups.
Both teams have previously met on three occasions with Galatasaray leading the head-to-head meetings thanks to having two wins. Galatasaray beat the Portuguese side 2-0 in a UEFA Cup match back in 2008 before inflicting a 2-1 defeat in a Champions League group stage match played Istanbul back in October 2015. Benfica won the return leg of that tie in Lisbon 2-1 a month later.
Onyekuru would be aiming for a good display against Benfica and more so, a first goal in European competition this season. The Nigerian international, who is on loan from Everton this season having spent last season on loan at Anderlecht, was unable to find the back of the net in five Champions League matches.
In another eye-catching draw, Valencia will be back in the United Kingdom months after facing Manchester United in the Champions League. Valencia took four points off the Red Devils in the Champions League group stage and would hope for similar results when they face Scottish side, Celtic, in the Europa League round of 32.
Other matches from the draws will see Rapid Vienna up against Inter Milan, Napoli facing FC Zurich after falling just short of reaching the Champions League round of 16, and Sporting Lisbon squaring up against Villarreal of Spain.
