AC Milan coach Rino Gattuso was delighted with Tiemoue Bakayoko’s performance in the victory over Parma. The On-loan Chelsea flop produced his best performance on Italian soil for the 2-1 win at san siro. so enthused: “My biggest surprise is to see Tiémoué Bakayoko play as he does right now.”
Gattuso went on to say that “It is hard to believe that he was able to improve so much in so little time. He did a great job and he deserves all he has achieved. I really hope he can continue like this. He must remain focused and continue to work, I spoke to my assistant Gigi Riccio and I said to him: ‘Today, it looks like he plays like Marcel Dessailly. I admired him a lot when I was young. When I see Bakayoko, I see a player with the same characteristics.”
Gattuso also revealed that Tiemoue Bakayoko has improved over the past few weeks and his progressing has been pleasing. Milan picked up an important 2-1 win over Parma over the weekend as Franck Kessie scored a vital winner towards the end of the game. The win helped the Rossoneri establish themselves inside the top four, clear of Lazio in the table.
Reviewing the game at Milan TV, Gattuso was asked to assess Bakayoko’s progress after the Frenchman played for 90 minutes for Milan. The Italian said: “Bakayoko? Bakayoko’s biggest surprise is his improvement on a tactical level. We knew the physical abilities he has. I like for how he listens, for how he moves. You are seeing a Bakayoko who closes more lines of passage, impacts more and pinches forward. It’s what he missed earlier, today he does not touch it more than twice, it’s an important sign.”
