Trouble Looms For Redeemed Church As Protesters Request Pastor Adeboye’s Suspension

Reports coming in indicates that, there is currently a protest against the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye over his silence on some national issues currently troubling the country.

The Protest which is being led by veteran Nigerian musicians, Eedris Abdulkarim and Baba Fryo of the Denge Pose fame, is holding at a Lagos branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. They have lamented the seeming nonchalant attitude of the revered cleric as he has failed to speak up on the bad administration of President Buhari as they see it.

The Buhari-led administration has according to the group, negatively affected thousands of Christians who are being murdered on a regular basis. They also decried the continued detention of Leah Sharibu by the Boko Haram sect as they said Adeboye had failed to address any of these.

The protesters have therefore called on the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to suspend the Redeemed Christian Church of God General Overseer for his role in the whole fracas as he seems to be providing a covering for the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who is a member and a senior Pastor in the Redeemed church.

Recently, Pastor Adeboye spoke up on the scandal which had rocked the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, after he was accused by Busola Dakolo of having forceful intercourse with her while she was still a teenager.

Adeboye as he reacted seemed to have taken a slight dig at the COZA pastor as he said anyone committing sin under the guise of grace will eventually be exposed.

  1. Yes I totally agree with the protesters. The man of God and his like hadn’t spoken against this evil of persecuting and killing of innocent people especially the christians in this country. I don’t understand if he’s afraid to speak up against this wicked administration

    1. I don’t think the man of God can do beyond the prayer he had been offering concerning the persistent killing of innocent souls, however he’s neither a politician nor holding a political position. This protest and frustration is wrongly channeled.

  2. The protesters are wrong…when Osinbajo decided to be a vice president…PST Adeboye never spoke on it…all he did was remove him from his post as head of the national ushering department and prayed for him because he doesn’t want to have anything to do with d govt…President Buhari winning d election whether free n fair or by rigging was allowed to happen by God,bcos if God did not want buhari in DAT position nothing can stop it…PST Adeboye can’t go against God’s authorities… Whoever is in a governing position today whether dey got there through a free n fair election or not has to be obeyed by we d citizens because the Bible says that God has ordained those in d Governing positions… U can’t force The General Overseer to talk on something he doesn’t want to talk on.. Its wrong…
When he gave his opinion about the COZA PST as u claim…he did not mention anybody’s name…he gave d advice to both the youth n young adults both in ministry n not in ministry.. He did not mention Pst Biodun’s name in his advice…So why should he be forced to speak on something that God hasn’t told him to speak on yet…people who hear from God always wait to listen to his instructions…
Yes he is meant to talk on it…I agree…but he is waiting to hear from our heavenly father

  3. Iam shocked and surprised at this, it is needless and baseless. Has the man of God made any statement as regards anything Political before now? Does that mean he is supporting the rot.

Why are we like this in Nigeria, u want the man of God to talk so His name be dragged on the mud? I can tell you that though he is not making noise like others are doing, he is doing a lot in this regards, do the protests is needless if you ask me.
