According to the APC, such statements are constitutionally reserved for the duly elected heads of government or his designees; the Party wonders why Atiku, who has occupied a high office as the country’s vice president would not understand the workings of the government.

The ruling party then accused him of lack of regard for the sovereignty of the office of the President and Nigerian government through the statements the party best describes as condescending.

Atiku is therefor warned that continuous portrayal of himself as a shadow President under Nigeria’s system “borders on felony and makes him a patent impostor.”
According to the Party, there can only be one democratically elected and legitimate government at a time in the country – which President Muhammadu Buhari clearly represents.

A statement signed by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu advised Atiku “to quickly address himself to the stark reality of his loss and move on.”

It warns the ex VP was in danger of committing  felony and the enforcement of relevant laws would not hesitate to address him irrespective of class and status.
