Iran has sent a message to the Federal Government of Nigeria concerning the constant clash going on between the IMN and the Police over the continuous detention of their leader Ibraheem El Zakzaky.
They have asked the federal government and the judiciary to release the Islamic leader and send him to Iran for medical treatment.
The plea for the release for El Zakzaky was in the form of a letter reportedly sent by Mohammed Montazeri, the Prosecutor-General (Attorney-General) of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
AhlulBayt News Agency, a news agency in Iran had revealed that Montazeri had written the letter last Saturday.
The letter read in part, “I, as the prosecutor general of the Islamic Republic of Iran, urge the Nigerian judicial authorities (to take steps) in line with their judicial independence and support for a captive citizen, and provide the ground for his release and transfer him to the Islamic Republic of Iran for treatment.”
El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenah have been in detention with the Department of State Services (DSS) since 2015. This had occurred after a clash with the convoy of Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen.
Three of his sons were reportedly killed during the violence that had occurred.
