Ex-Delta governor Uduaghan speaks on nomination of Keyamo

An Ex-governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating for a ministerial position one of the sons of Delta, Festus Keyamo.

Uduaghan who is als a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) also congratulated the president for transmitting his ministerial list to the Legislature.

The list which contained 43 names was sent to the Senate for screening Tuesday, July 23, 2019 nearly two months he was sworn in for a second term.

The former Delta state governor in a statement signed by his media assistant, Mr Monoyo Edon, said the nomination of Keyamo was a great honour for the entire Delta..

He said Festus Keyamo‘s appointment did not come as a surprise to him since the lawyer distinguished himself and has shown capacity in his previous post as spokesperson of the Presidential Campaign Council.

His said his appointment was very welcomed to the APC family in Delta State.

He said some other nominees that made the cut have something tangible to contribute to the NextLevel program of Buhari.

Uduaghan said he knew them and “I am sure they can function creditably well with any portfolio given to them at the end of the day.”

Festus Keyamo was one of the most vibrant campaign team members of Buhari before and during the 2019 presidential poll.

Buhari of APC defeated Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP). Atiku and PDP are still contesting the outcome of the election at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

Festus, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) was the APC Presidential Agent and a member of the legal team of Buhari at the tribunal.

Some political observers described his nomination as “well-deserved”.  And a lot of APC members in Delta have also sent congratulatory messages to Keyamo.

It was gathered that the screening of the nominees would start Wednesday, July 23, 2019.
