Days after the daughter of Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere, Mrs Funke Olakunrin was killed, allegedly by suspected herdsmen as was reported in some sections of the media, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has refuted such reports as it distanced itself from the murder of Mrs Funke Olakunrin.
According to reports from CONCISE NEWS, Baba Ngelzarma, the National Secretary of Miyetti Allah had during a visit to the Christian Association of Nigeria leadership, made a call on Nigerians not to make the issue political.
According to the MACBAN National Secretary, herdsmen are naturally peace loving people. As he said this, he called on the police to apprehend the perpetrators of the horrible act.
“We are also reaffirming our call on the Police and other security agencies to do all they can to get to the root of this dastardly killing and ensure diligent prosecution of any individual or group found to have had a hand in the incident,” Ngelzarma added.
The murder of Mrs Olakunrin had sparked outrage across the country, with many groups especially Afenifere, condemning the attack.
When Bola Tinubu, the National leader of the All progressives Congress (APC) insinuated that the attack may not have been carried out by Fulani herdsmen as was widely reported in the media, many had attacked him and said he was not being economical with the truth.
A former President in the country, Goodluck Jonathan, had said that the country was getting more insecure under the leadership of President Buhari.
