In the issue of Certificate forgery and possession of required certificate to contest for an elective office, President Buhari stands right while the dancing senator and PDP’s governorship candidate in last year’s Osun State gubernatorial election, Senator Ademola Adeleke is guilty as charged, so says Mr Festus Keyamo, the All Progressives Congress campaign spokesperson.
Festus Keyamo, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign Council has drawn a comparison between Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s WAEC issue and that of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Keyamo had in an interview on Sunday claimed that under the Nigerian constitution, one does not need a WAEC certificate to become President of Nigeria.
However, shedding more light on the issue in a series of tweets on Monday morning, Kayamo pointed out that the WAEC board had confirmed that President Buhari sat and obtained his certificate while Senator Adeleke’s was allegedly forged.
Keyamo explained that forgery occurs when the supposed author of a document denies ever making it or denies its authenticity, adding that WAEC had confirmed the authenticity of Buhari’s certificate by issuing an attestation of it.
The senior lawyer said that in the case of Adeleke, WAEC has denied authenticity.
Keyamo, on his Twitter page, wrote: “By the definition of “School Certificate or its equivalent” in section 318 of the 1999 const. you don’t need a WAEC certificate to become President or Governor, but if you present a FORGED WAEC or other certificates to INEC for any office you will be disqualified.”
You Are Deceiving Yourselves… PDP BoT Member Blasts Southerners In APC Hoping To Clinch Party’s 2023 Presidential Ticket
A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustee, BoT, member, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, has stated that the All Progressives Congress, APC, will field another Northern presidential candidate to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Babatope claimed that Southerners in the APC were deceiving themselves that Buhari will handover to them in 2023.
Speaking with Independent on Sunday, he claimed that the North would find it difficult to relinquish power after Buhari’s second tenure.
According to Babatope: “Whatever happens inside the APC is their headache. Some of our brothers in the South-West have been deceiving themselves that somebody from the South-West will be nominated by their party for the 2023 presidential election.
“But they are merely deceiving themselves because the North will not let go easily and, as such, they will not allow the South-West to field a candidate.
“So, if our South-West brothers in the APC think the North will hand over to them in 2023, they are only deceiving themselves”.
“They will never hand over power to them or allow them to contest election. After Buhari, they will field another Northerner. All I can do is to wish them well.”
