The not so long ago visit of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to President Muhammadu Buhari has been frowned at by the National Christian Elders Forum (NCEF). In a statement that was they made they revealed some shocking details including the fact that a pact existed between the All Progressive Congress and the Christian Association of Nigeria,
CAN initiative led by its leader, Sampson Ayokunle, had a week ago visited Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to congratulate him for his 2019 general race triumph.
Be that as it may, in an announcement on Monday entitled, “Not on our behalf, CAN President, Not on our behalf,” Christian Elders driven by a previous Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen.
Theophilus Danjuma (retd.) and Solomon Asemota (its administrator), blamed the visit saying it was “ethically and profoundly unforgivable.
As indicated by the party, “the rash complimentary visit to President Buhari,” added up to “subjudice” as the assurance of who won the 2019 general race “is still in court.”
NCEF then approached Christians of good conscience, to know the leader of CAN, Ayokunle “is running CAN as an appendage of the All Progressives Congress.” in this statement he had alluded to the fact that there was a connection and pact of sort that was not known to the public between the two bodies.
The forum likewise said that the activity of Ayokunle further affirmed every one of their protests and petitions in 2018, questioning his dedication to Christ and to His Church.
“It is therefore untimely and arrogant for anybody to praise President Buhari for “winning” an election that is still being challenged in court. The NCEF wishes to express that the celebratory visit to Aso Villa by
CAN couldn’t be in light of a legitimate concern for Nigerian Christians who day by day bear the desolation of thousands of their brethren being killed, mutilated, uprooted and underestimated in the jihad propelled in the northern pieces of the nation.
“It is notable the lack of concern of the Buhari organization to the homicide of Christians everywhere throughout the nation.
This lack of interest has driven many, including outside onlookers, to presume that the Buhari organization is complicit in the continuous genocide that is occurring in Nigeria,” the announcement read to a limited extent.
